Born and raised in Kyoto, Reiko combines her deep local roots with her expertise in Japanese gardens, history, and culture to create a one-of-a-kind guided tour.

As the winner, you will work with Reiko in advance (even while in the United States) to plan your perfect day in Kyoto. She will design a personalized itinerary based on your interests and accompany you as your guide, offering unique cultural insights that only a true local expert can provide.

About Reiko
Reiko was born and raised in Kyoto, Japan. She moved to the United States in 1994 to attend Arizona State University. With a strong background in nonprofit management and a lifelong dedication to Japanese gardens and culture, she led the Japanese Friendship Garden of Phoenix as Executive Director for six years. Today, she continues to serve the Garden as International Relations Liaison and lives in Kyoto to pursue her passion for traditional crafts and gardening.
